The spa will be located in a separate building in the surroundings of the pool area. At present, all other constructions projects have been completed and the hotel is fully operational with the exception of the gymnasium facilities which will be available upon the opening of the new spa.

Reid's Palace Hotel has 130 rooms and 34 suites, individually decorated in pastel colors and offering traditional style and comfort, with marble bathrooms and vanity units. There are new wicker tables and chairs on the balconies or terraces, with the majority enjoying superb views of the Atlantic. Newly refurbished rooms and suites have a white embroidery bedspread. All rooms have a terrace with sea/garden view and that phone has internet connection. Also, all rooms have bathrobes, slippers, and hairdryer. All situated in the Main Building, east wing. Original high ceiling. All classic rooms have been renovated with light and fresh fabrics to harmonize with the original Anglo-Portuguese furnishings. The interior colours are a reflection of the sparkling views of the Atlantic Ocean from the hotel's French windows and complement the original carved wood antiques in the rooms. Partial sea view. SUPERIOR DOUBLE/TWIN ROOMS - Aprox. 27-32 sq m (291-344,5 sq ft). Most of them located in the Garden Wing, but some in Main Building. All Superior rooms in the Main Building renovated in the same style as the Classic rooms. 2nd and 3rd floor Garden Wing very different to the other rooms, here the accent is light and stylish, using pale woods and colour co-coordinated contemporary fabrics and carpets. 1st floor rooms in the Garden Wing are larger with spacious terraces and direct access to the gardens. Partial sea and/or garden view. PREMIER DOUBLE/TWIN ROOMS - Aprox. 27-32 sq m (291-344,5 sq ft). Most of them located in the Garden Wing and some in the Main Building. All Premier rooms in the Main Building renovated in the same light and fresh fabrics as the Classic rooms. Slightly larger than the Superior double rooms but better view over the garden and/or sea. JUNIOR SUITES - Aprox. 35-40 sq m (377- 430,5 sq ft). Most of them located in the Main Building. Have one large room with a comfortable sitting area. Most of them renovated in elegant light and fresh fabrics and with original carved wood antiques in the rooms. Beautiful location with splendid sea view and large balcony. Very spacious and luxurious bathrooms decorated with Portuguese tiles SUPERIOR SUITES - Aprox. 40-45 sq m (430,5 - 484 sq ft). Most of them located in the Garden Wing. Offers two separate rooms with very light and airy decoration. The bedrooms are king or twin bedded and the sitting room has a writing desk and a comfortable chair and sofa. Beautiful sea and garden view. EXECUTIVE SUITES - Aprox. 50-55 sq m (538-592 sq ft). Located in the Main Building. These attractive and spacious suites offer two rooms, with a large bedroom and sitting room. In addition has a kitchenette to organize private functions. Two of them very newly created, first opened to our guests in 2001 and are uniquely situated in a very quite and secluded location within the hotel with its private entrance. Magnificant views over the gardens and the Atlantic Ocean. The remaining two have been beautifully renovated with light and fresh fabrics to harmonize with the original Anglo-Portuguese furnishings. Very spacious and luxurious bathrooms decorated with Portuguese tiles. Superb sea and garden view. Large balconies. CHURCHILL AND G. B. SHAW SUITES (PRESIDENTIAL) Aprox. 60 sq m (646 sq ft). Located in the main building, these two beautiful suites both renovated with light and fresh fabrics and Chinese hand-painted wallpapers with wild silk curtains, offer one large bedroom and one large sitting room. Beautiful and spacious bathrooms decorated with Portuguese tiles. In addition has a kichenette to organize private functions and one separate toilet with charicatures of Winston Churchill and George Bernard. Original high ceiling. Splendid location with superb sea and garden view. Large Balconies.

Directions |

When leaving the airport take the Highway - "Cota 200"- towards Funchal. Follow this road approx. 20 km, until you reach the exit Funchal "Hospital" and "Porto" (After 12 tunnels). Turn off at the above exit and follow this road until your reach a roundabout (stay in right lane). Turn the 2nd to the right towards the "Hospital" and "Avenida do Mar" until you get to a crossing with a traffic light. Turn right and pass the bridge. You will find Reid´s Palace on the left side on number 139 of Estrada Monumental. However, due to a continuous line you are not able to turn left, hence please follow the same road until you get to a roundabout, turn around and drive back the same road, until you reach Reid´s Palace on the right side.
Follow the road towards Funchal until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout turn left and follow the road until you reach a traffic light. At the traffic light turn left, at this point you are driving on "Estrada Monumental", Reid´s Palace is located on the left side on number 139 of "Estrada Monumental". However, due to a continuous line you are not able to turn left, hence please follow the same road until you get to another roundabout, turn around and drive back the same road, until you reach Reid´s Palace on the right side.
Located on the outskirts of Funchal, set in Madeira's sub-tropical paradise, the hotel's magnificent clifftop setting is an ideal venue for a meeting or incentive for business people who appreciate elegance and luxury.

All rooms have natural daylight. * The Boardroom - has an antique table and chair decoration, and a balcony overlooking the garden and sea. It is suitable for a maximum of 16 guests. * Bridge Room - Is connected to The Boardroom, with antique table and chair decoration, and a balcony overlooking the garden, sea and Funchal Bay. A dual purpose room, serving The Boardroom for refreshment breaks or private dinners. * William Reid Room - has contemporary furniture with a large window wall overlooking the sea and the gardens, and is suitable for a maximum of 20 guests. * The Meeting Room - is decorated with Scottish tartan and is a suitable function room for meetings or banquets. It has modern furniture, large built-in screen and windows facing Funchal Bay. The Meeting Room is suitable for a maximum of 80 guests. * Salon 28 - is suitable for small cocktail parties, with window and small balcony overlooking the gardens. The beauty of the mountains or the grandeur of the north coast will stay in your memory forever. The Helicopter of Madeira can carry five people in comfort on a variety of trips, from a quick flight to Porto Santo or around the Bay of Funchal, to a half or full island tour. -Whale and Dolphin Watching- Whale and dolphin watching is a popular excursion, taking in the wonderful surroundings of the island, sailing around the coast in search of these beautiful mammals. Constructed 500 years ago, these irrigation channels trace 2000km of flora and panoramic views. -Golf- Although one may not immediately consider Madeira ideally situated for golf - because of its mountains and forests - it still boasts 45 holes of championship golf. Two courses, set in beaitiful surroundings, allow golfers of any standard to improve their game in the favorable Madeiran climate. Quinta de Palheiro Santo da Serro golf clubs are fully equipped with professional tuition, golf equipment for purchase or hire, buggies and caddies. Each spring the island receives the prestigious PGA European Tour when the Madeira Island Open is hosted by the Santo da Serra Golf Club. Scheduled shuttle services are available for both golf courses. - Palheiro Golf Club - This beautiful course is situated in the woodland in the hills to the east of Funchal, just 15 minutes from both Funchal and the airport. Reid's Palace Hotel guests are entitled to a 30% discount at Palheiro Golf Course. Golf tuition is also available. - Santo da Serra Golf Club - This exclusive course is situated close to the picturesque village of Santo da Serra, east of Funchal, and is the home of the Madeira Island Open. Situated high on a plateau, and at times above the cloud line, the views from the course of the sea below and mountains above are literally breathtaking. This, combined with the technically challenging design by Robert Trent Jones, elevates Santo da Serra to one of the most reputable courses in Europe and one of the most impressive in the world. The PGA European Tour visits annually and the course has 27 formidable holes. Play is characterized by generous fairways, tight, undulating greens and a choice of tee positions to suit all abilities. Both courses are highly in demand, so prior booking is normally essential, especially in high season. Handicaps are 36 for ladies and 28 for men. There is no dress code imposed apart from no jeans allowed.
